Thirty-five years on, an FW450L V3

The appeal of FPV flight is not just about bringing the camera view to your eyes. Regular FPV is more like placing your eyes at the nose of the aircraft, using the camera feed to judge direction, speed, and space. What FLYWING X WING FIGHTER aims to deliver goes one step further: it does not simply let you “see what is in front of the aircraft.” Through a scale cockpit perspective, linked control stick, and head-tracking technology, it brings your viewpoint back from the nose of the aircraft into the cockpit, making the flight feel closer to piloting a real aircraft. This is one of the biggest differences between X WING FIGHTER and regular FPV flight. You are not just watching a screen while flying. You feel more like you are sitting in the cockpit, experiencing takeoff, turning, cruising, and observing the surrounding environment from a first-person perspective. Fixed-Wing Cruising Creates a Stronger Sense of Flight Unlike multirotor drones, fixed-wing flight has a much stronger sense of route and direction. Once in Fixed-Wing Mode, X WING FIGHTER fully takes advantage of the efficiency of fixed-wing flight. It can cruise at an economical speed of 60 km/h, with a maximum flight time of up to 60 minutes in ideal windless, sea-level conditions. This means pilots are not limited to a short takeoff, quick filming session, and landing. Instead, they can enjoy a more complete cruising experience. You can plan a route, observe changes in the terrain, and feel the gliding, turning, and continuous forward motion that make fixed-wing flight so unique. For pilots who enjoy FPV exploration, this experience is completely different from ordinary short-distance flying. HD Low-Latency Video Transmission Makes First-Person Flight Feel More Real The foundation of immersive FPV is stable, clear, and low-latency video transmission. When paired with compatible flight goggles, X WING FIGHTER supports HD, low-latency video transmission. In an unobstructed and interference-free environment, the maximum video transmission distance can reach up to 10 km under FCC standards. For fixed-wing cruising, video transmission performance is especially important. Fixed-wing aircraft fly faster and cover longer distances, so pilots need to continuously judge direction, attitude, and the surrounding environment through the live view. A clearer and more responsive image makes the entire flight feel more natural and gives the pilot more confidence. Scale Cockpit + 3-Axis Gimbal Head Tracking Brings the Viewpoint Back to the Cockpit The immersive feeling of X WING FIGHTER does not only come from the FPV image itself. It comes from the creation of a true “cockpit perspective.” Regular FPV is more like placing the pilot’s eyes at the front of the aircraft, with the view fixed forward as the aircraft moves. X WING FIGHTER, however, uses a scale cockpit, linked control stick, and 3-axis gimbal head tracking to bring the viewpoint back to the pilot’s seat, making it feel closer to sitting inside the aircraft and observing the flight. After head tracking is enabled, pilots can turn their head during flight to control the camera direction and pitch. You are no longer limited to staring at a fixed forward view. Instead, you can naturally look ahead, to the sides, and toward your flight path. Looking toward the turn before changing direction, checking your route while cruising, and looking around as you pass over terrain all feel closer to a real piloting experience than regular FPV. Longer Flight Time Keeps the Immersion Going One common limitation of FPV flight is that the flight often ends just as you start getting fully immersed. With the efficiency of fixed-wing flight, X WING FIGHTER allows the immersive experience to last longer. In ideal windless, sea-level conditions, its maximum flight time can reach up to 60 minutes. For pilots who want to experience long-distance cruising, outdoor exploration, and fixed-wing route flying, this is especially important. A longer flight time means you can take off more calmly, switch modes, enter cruise, observe your route, and complete return and landing with more room to enjoy the full process. Flight becomes more than a short burst of excitement. It becomes a complete journey. Foldable Design Makes Outdoor FPV Easier to Start Immersive FPV should not be limited to a fixed flying field. X WING FIGHTER features a foldable airframe design, making it easier to store and carry. Whether you are heading to a grass field, mountain area, beach, or another open outdoor location, it is easier to bring along. Unfold the wings, confirm they are locked, install the battery, and you can begin preparing for flight. For pilots who enjoy outdoor flying, the foldable design saves space and makes every trip more efficient. Built for Pilots Who Want a More Realistic FPV Experience If you are already used to a regular drone FPV view, X WING FIGHTER brings a completely different sense of flight. It is not hovering in one place to capture footage. It is continuously moving forward. It is not limited to a fixed forward-facing view. With head tracking, you can naturally observe your surroundings. It is also not limited to short flight sessions, thanks to the efficiency of fixed-wing cruising. For pilots who love FPV, fixed-wing flight, and outdoor exploration, the core appeal of X WING FIGHTER is that it brings all these experiences together in one aircraft. FLYWING X WING FIGHTER is launching soon. If you want to experience first-person flight that feels closer to sitting in the cockpit, this is a VTOL fixed-wing FPV aircraft worth looking forward to.BUY NOW：https://flywingrc.com/pages/x-wing-prelaunch

For many flight enthusiasts, fixed-wing aircraft have always had a unique appeal. They fly farther, cruise more efficiently, and feel closer to real flight. But traditional fixed-wing aircraft often require a runway, hand launch, and more advanced landing skills. For many drone pilots, that learning curve can feel intimidating before they even get started. That is exactly where FLYWING X WING FIGHTER comes in. It is designed to lower the barrier to fixed-wing flight. Instead of simply combining a fixed-wing aircraft with a multirotor platform, it brings together VTOL takeoff and landing, fixed-wing cruising, intelligent flight control, and multiple flight modes, helping more pilots enter the fixed-wing world in a more natural way. No Runway. No Hand Launch. Traditional fixed-wing aircraft usually require the right flying field. You need enough open space for takeoff and landing, and you also need to master hand launch, runway takeoff, or approach landing skills. X WING FIGHTER features a VTOL design, allowing it to take off and land vertically like a multirotor drone. For pilots new to fixed-wing flight, this means you do not have to deal with the pressure of runways, hand launches, or complex landings right from the start. In VTOL Mode, X WING FIGHTER feels closer to flying a drone. You can first use a familiar control style to complete takeoff, hovering, and basic movement. If a small control mistake happens, releasing the stick allows the aircraft to brake and return to VTOL hovering. From there, you can gradually experience the speed, route awareness, and spatial feel of fixed-wing flight. Experience the Fixed-Wing Perspective in a Familiar Way Many drone pilots are interested in fixed-wing flight, but the real challenge is not only takeoff. It is the change in flight logic. A multirotor drone is more about hovering and moving through space. A fixed-wing aircraft needs to keep moving forward, with more focus on flight path, turning radius, altitude, and speed management. The advantage of X WING FIGHTER is that it makes this transition smoother. In VTOL Mode, pilots can push the forward stick fully and let the aircraft fly forward at an almost level attitude. This gives you a fixed-wing-like perspective without immediately entering a high-speed, high-maneuverability fixed-wing control state. Once you become familiar with the view and spatial judgment, switching into Fixed-Wing Mode becomes much easier and more confidence-inspiring. Cruise Mode Makes Fixed-Wing Flight Easier to Start After entering Fixed-Wing Mode, X WING FIGHTER offers Cruise Mode, Stabilized Mode, and Manual Mode for pilots at different skill levels. For beginners, Cruise Mode is the most approachable Fixed-Wing Mode. The flight control automatically assists the aircraft, helping it maintain a more stable flight attitude. Cruise Mode also supports coordinated turning. When turning, pilots only need to operate the aileron stick, while the flight control helps add elevator control automatically, creating a smoother turning attitude and reducing the pressure of first-time fixed-wing flying. This does not make flying boring. Instead, it allows pilots to focus first on route, direction, and spatial awareness, rather than being distracted by complex control inputs from the beginning. One Aircraft for Different Stages of Flying X WING FIGHTER is not only built for beginners. As you become more familiar with fixed-wing flight, you can move on to Stabilized Mode. This mode keeps the fun of manual control while providing attitude assistance, making the aircraft more stable and suitable for practicing basic fixed-wing maneuvers. If you already have fixed-wing flying experience, Manual Mode delivers a purer control experience. It is better suited for pilots who want to explore speed, attitude changes, and freer flying styles. From Cruise Mode to Stabilized Mode, and then to Manual Mode, X WING FIGHTER can support pilots from entry-level learning to more advanced flying, instead of being limited to only one stage. Intelligent Flight Control for Better Orientation on Longer Flights For fixed-wing flight, flying farther is only the first step. What matters just as much is maintaining orientation and flight awareness throughout the journey. X WING FIGHTER is equipped with a multi-link GNSS system, supporting GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo positioning. It also supports One-Key Return-to-Home. In situations such as low battery or transmitter signal loss, Return-to-Home logic can also be triggered. These features do not replace pre-flight checks or safe operation, but they can help fixed-wing beginners and long-range FPV pilots better understand and manage the aircraft’s flight status in more complex flying scenarios. Who Is X WING FIGHTER For? If you already have drone flying experience, X WING FIGHTER’s VTOL Mode lets you start with a more familiar drone-like control style while getting your first taste of the fixed-wing perspective and flight feel. If you are new to fixed-wing flying, VTOL takeoff and landing, stable hovering, Cruise Mode, and Return-to-Home support can help you enter fixed-wing flight more smoothly. If you are an experienced fixed-wing pilot, Manual Mode, long flight time, FPV head tracking, and long-range video transmission provide plenty of room to explore. The value of X WING FIGHTER is not just that it makes takeoff easier. It helps more pilots enter the fixed-wing world in a more natural way, while still offering room to explore more advanced flight experiences on the same aircraft. FLYWING X WING FIGHTER is coming soon.
