Thank You, Ipswich: FLYWING at QMHE 2026
RC Community
On August 15–16, FLYWING had the pleasure of joining our Australian dealer partner, Hobbyrama, at the 2026 Queensland Model Hobbies Expo (QMHE) in Ipswich.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary, this year’s QMHE brought together a vibrant community of scale modellers, hobby clubs, local retailers, families, and RC enthusiasts from across Queensland and northern New South Wales. All weekend long, the venue was buzzing with people exploring displays, swapping stories, and sharing their passion for scale modelling.
Discovering FLYWING
For many who walked by, it was their very first time encountering FLYWING.
While a few visitors recognized our X WING FIGHTER or mentioned seeing our RC helicopters in online videos, most were seeing our lineup in person for the first time.
That spark of discovery was easily one of the highlights of our weekend. Visitors paused to get a closer look, asked about our helicopter designs and flight systems, and shared their genuine first impressions. Words like “interesting” “fresh” and “something I haven’t seen before” came up again and again. We even caught the attention of a local flight school instructor, who spent time inspecting our rotor mechanics and shared that FLYWING helicopters are a fantastic hands-on tool for teaching students how cyclic and collective pitch systems operate in real life.
What We Bring to RC Flying
At FLYWING, our focus is simple: developing intelligent RC aircraft that pair scale-inspired aesthetics with responsive, accessible controls. Our range covers sport helicopters, scale helicopters, and fixed-wing aircraft, offering pilots diverse ways to take to the skies.
At the core of many FLYWING models is our ACE flight control system. Paired with multi-link GNSS positioning, ACE handles stable outdoor hovering, One-Key Return-to-Home, and Low-Battery Return-to-Home. Depending on the model, pilots can also enjoy coordinated turning assist, three adjustable control-sensitivity modes, and smooth, soft takeoffs and landings. These intelligent features streamline the flying experience without taking away the hands-on fun of piloting an RC aircraft.
Alongside our helicopters, the X WING FIGHTER brings vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) together with multicopter agility and fixed-wing efficiency. Combined with head tracking and a 3-axis gimbal, it delivers an immersive FPV experience that puts you right in the cockpit.
It was inspiring to see so many visitors pause to dive into these details—and even start debating which model they’d love to fly next.
Every First Meeting Matters
We know FLYWING is still a fresh name to many modellers and pilots. That is precisely why gatherings like QMHE mean so much to us.
Events like this give us the opportunity to connect face-to-face, listen to honest feedback, and truly understand what matters most to local pilots. Every question asked and every conversation shared helps bring FLYWING into the community—while giving us clear direction on where to refine and improve.
Moving forward, we remain dedicated to refining our technology, sharing more real-flight content, and collaborating closely with local partners to bring FLYWING closer to RC communities worldwide.
We can’t wait to see you again! In the meantime, head over to the FLYWING Official Website to explore our full lineup and discover what’s next:https://flywingrc.com/
